The expedition will start at Cazombo locality, Angola’s eastern Moxico province. The Angolan Government and the Programme to Combat to Malaria is heading up Angola’s medical representatives and transport. The timeline for the 2,500 kilometres (1,600 miles) journey is:
- Zambezi source: 29 March
- Angola: 31 March – 07 April
- Zambia: 08 – 17, 23 – 26 April, 09 – 11 May (World Malaria Day will be commemorated in Livingstone, Zambia on April 25)
- Namibia/Botswana: 18 – 22 April
- Zimbabwe: 27 April – 08 May
- Mozambique: 12 – 31 May
